At Tbay, giving back has always been part of our story. Through Tbay Charity and our program 1000 Schools in Africa, we’ve supported community projects, helped those in need, and encouraged our users to be part of meaningful change. Every trade you make on Tbay matters because 20 Naira is donated towards this charity program.
On 16th July 2025, the Tbay team visited Dumpong M/A Basic School in the Eastern Region of Ghana. This month’s event marked another step forward in our mission to empower students with the resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
Nestled in the scenic hills of Kunkunrom, Akuapim South, near the well-known Aburi Botanical Gardens, Dumpong M/A Basic School has been shaping young minds since 1957. The school began with just three basic classes and over time expanded to include Junior High School, moving from a multi-grade system to one class per grade.
With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the school is known for its friendly pupils and dedicated staff. Despite its strong reputation in the district, Dumpong M/A faces challenges due to limited resources. Many students come from low-income families who struggle to provide basic school supplies.
Our selection process prioritizes schools where our support can make the biggest difference. Dumpong M/A Basic School stood out for its academic commitment and community spirit, yet its students face obstacles that hinder their learning experience. By donating essential supplies, we aim to ease the burden on parents and give pupils the tools they need to succeed. A total of 50 pupils benefited from our July donation.
The event began with a warm welcome from the school administration. In their words:
“We are here with us today, a team from Tbay. Their mission is to donate to 1,000 schools in Africa. They are here to help the students with school items to enhance teaching and learning. God bless you for coming. Welcome.”
Speaking on behalf of Tbay, Velarie Selasie Azaglo shared:
“Tbay is a company that deals in online trading, specializing in gift card exchange services. As part of our responsibility to give back to the community, we are here today to provide these educational materials including exercise books, pens, pencils, lunch boxes, socks, and water bottles to help make learning more comfortable and effective for you.”
We distributed the items to each pupil, ensuring they received the supplies needed for their daily school life. The joy and gratitude on their faces made the entire trip worthwhile.

Mrs. Rhoda Aidoo, the headmistress, expressed her heartfelt appreciation:
“The school is truly grateful to Tbay for this generous donation. These materials will go a long way in supporting teaching and learning in our classrooms.”
This event was more than just delivering school items, it was about showing students that their education matters and that they are supported by a global community.
